UGC & creative strategy

What are UGC ads?

Short answer

UGC ads are adverts made to look and feel like content from real customers or creators: people talking to camera, unboxing, demonstrating or reviewing a product. They tend to feel native in Instagram and Facebook feeds and often outperform polished studio ads.

UGC stands for user-generated content. In advertising it usually means content made by paid creators in that authentic style, with the brand’s permission to run it as ads.

Good UGC ads still follow a structure: a strong hook in the first three seconds, a clear problem or desire, the product as the solution, proof and a call to action.
